Suspensions/Exemptions
Special duty relief programs are designed to encourage local industry. These programs are based on the particular industry, the kind of imported item, or even the end-use of the item. The incorrect application of the suspension/exemption arrangement may, amongst others, result in the assessment of import duties, inaccurate compliance filings, penalties and interest, business issues (increased costs which can not be recovered) and production interruptions due to non-availability of materials may occur. For further information, see also IPR, OPR and PCC under helpful links. |
