Single Authorization for Simplified Procedures (SASP) is key to long term cross-border customs solutions

SASP provides the possibility of using the local clearance procedure or the simplified declaration procedure to perform the customs formalities in the Member State where your company is established. This applies to imports/exports wherever they occur in the Community. A transfer of the goods to the authorized location is possible. Subsequently a periodic supplementary declaration is lodged. Your company can be authorized to centralize accounting and payment of customs duties in the authorizing EU member state. This is also true even if goods are physically present in another EU member state.

A number of customs authorities have authorized centralized clearance involving simplified entry of goods, which are located in another Member State, for the customs procedure concerned, notably for inward processing, customs warehousing and, less frequently, for release for free circulation. CustomsAdvisoryPlus believes in the strength of SASP

SASP should especially be considered when your company already thinks of reorganizing its current supply chain (see also under Supply Chain Management. Any supply chain changes, such as changing product flows, centralization of inventory locations and (key) functions, typically also result in systems changes. Implementing SASP simultaneously could result in significant additional advantages.

Significant cost reduction: By aligning/optimizing your customs-, administrative- and inventory management systems, your administrative- payroll-, outsourcing- and cash-flow costs may even be further reduced.
